The NBA truly doesn’t sleep. Just six days after the NBA Finals ended, the NBA Draft will kick off and a whole new crop of talent will start their pro basketball careers.
The top three guys seem to be locked into a certain order, but after that, there are going to be a lot of interesting picks. We may even get some power shifting trades.
Whatever happens, it will be a memorable night for the 60 players selected. Here are some prop bets so you can enjoy this night with them.
Ivey is considered one of the best players in the draft and is clearly the fourth-most touted prospect after Chet Holmgren, Jabari Smith and Paolo Banchero. Ivey is a guard out of Purdue who will immediately step into a playmaking role in the NBA. He is a great athlete and will have no shortage of hype. The issue is the team sitting in the fourth spot, the Sacramento Kings. They already have two guards who fill Ivey’s role. However, there have been a lot of rumors they may trade this pick, and even if they stand pat, they may take Ivey and figure it out later. This is a great line for the consensus fourth pick.
Andrew Nembhard was a great guard throughout his collegiate career and will be impactful for just about any team. He is older, so that has lowered his draft stock a little bit, but the recent buzz around Nembhard is that he could sneak into the first round. Guys like Nembhard will be very appealing to the good teams at the end of the draft as he will instantly be ready to play in the NBA. It’s a bit of a longshot, but the buzz has been overwhelmingly positive. Take Nembhard to go top 30.
Jeremy Sochan is an interesting prospect. He was a great defensive player at Baylor and will immediately be one of the better defenders in the league. That aspect of his game is relatively undisputed. The issue is, however, there are mixed reviews on his offensive talent. Certain teams have been rumored to think that he will develop a good shot, and if so, Sochan will not fall past pick 10. He is a legitimate difference-maker on defense and teams will fall in love with him, so there is a good chance he will be picked towards the back half of the top 10.
