This was almost a Super Bowl matchup of last season and the way these teams are playing that is a major longshot this season. The Eagles dropped to under .500 with a loss in their last game and the Jaguars have lost three in a row where their offense has only mustered a total of 28 points.
Philly has not been able to put it together and while Carson Wentz is back under center the team still only ranks 22nd in the league in points per game. The defense has been there, but the offense has not and Wentz has gotten little help from the run game.
Jax has been outscored 90-28 in their last three games and Blake Bortles was benched in his last game, but remains the starter. He has issues with turnovers and it does not help that the team has had major issues running the ball with the injury to Leonard Fournette, who is out for another game with a hamstring injury.
The Jags’ defense has sputtered as of late and with the offense they have that spells trouble. In this nonconference game the Eagles will win and cover and get to .500 on the season sending reeling Jacksonville to their fourth straight loss.
Tip: Philadelphia Eagles to cover (-3) at -111.11 with Bovada
The Steelers have won two in a row and they tied the Browns in their season opener in Cleveland. They will not have Le’Veon Bell back in this game like they had hoped., but the team has scored 79 points in winning their last two games.
The Browns have lost two in a row and lost a close one in OT in their last game. Baker Mayfield has been up and down, but the offense still only ranks tied for 23rd in the league in points per game. Mayfield may have to shoulder more of the load since the team traded away leading rusher Carlos Hyde.
While the Browns are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games facing the Steelers that trend will not continue. Ben Roethlisberger will continue his solid play and unlike the first meeting with the Browns he will not throw a slew of interceptions. Because of that Pittsburgh will win this game at home and cover the spread sending Cleveland to their third straight loss.
Tip: Pittsburgh Steelers to cover (-8) at -111.11 with Bovada
May seem hard to believe to take the Over in any Cardinals game, as they rank second to last in the league in points per game. However, the 49ers put up 30 points in their last game and Arizona has a new offensive coordinator after firing their last one after their last game. Look for Arizona to air out often and unleash Josh Rosen, who will have a solid game.
The 49ers and Cardinals will easily surpass the low total set for this game and the 49ers have an Over record of 5-1 in their last six games.
Tip: Over 43 points at -111.11 with Bovada
