The NHL’s official wagering partner has also penned a deal with one of the NFL’s biggest franchises.
MGM Resorts has signed on as the official gaming partner of the New York Jets.
The deal, which runs over several years, will see the NFL franchise push MGM’s casino resorts and online gambling platforms.
The Jets also have an agreement with 888.com, although there was no official announcement.
Under league rules, teams are usually forbidden from promoting any company that offers online sports betting.
But because MGM is the Jets’ wagering partner, rather than a sponsor, there is no danger of breaching the NFL gambling code.
“We are proud to partner with an iconic brand like MGM Resorts,” said Neil Glat, President of the New York Jets.
“This unique partnership also enables us to further engage our fans in the mobile and digital world.”
Jim Murren, Chairman & CEO of MGM Resorts, said the “first-of-its-kind partnership” would help revolutionise online gambling in the United States.
“We look forward to working with the Jets to innovate gaming, increase our customer base through cross marketing opportunities and provide NFL fans with a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience,” he said.
The news comes only days after MGM Resorts was confirmed as the official betting partner of the National Hockey League.
