We’ve got ourselves a killer NFL Monday night match-up this week as the LA Rams (9-1) go head-to-head with the Kansas City Chiefs (9-1) in a game that may be a precursor to the Super Bowl.
There are always tons of betting options available for Monday Night games and this one is no different, so punters should get in on the action.
This game was scheduled to be played at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, but the field was not up to par so they moved the venue to LA. That is good for the Rams, who are a perfect 5-0 at home this season.
The Chiefs have won four straight and Patrick Mahomes, who leads the league in passing yards, leads a dynamic offense that ranks second in the NFL in points per game. Mahomes may be the MVP front runner, but the Rams have a couple of candidates themselves in quarterback Jared Goff and running back Toddy Gurley, who leads the league in rushing yards. LA ranks third in the league in points per game and while they have a defense that has a lot of talent in their last three games they have given up an average of 34.2 points per game.
These teams have not faced each other since the 2014 season.
This season the Chiefs are 8-2 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 5-4-1 with the Rams at 4-6 ATS with an Over/Under record of 5-5.
The Chiefs are 6-0 ATS in their last six games facing the Rams.
In their last game, the Chiefs were at home and they won their fourth in a row in a 26-14 win over the Arizona Cardinals. They led 20-7 at the half and Mahomes had another solid game with 249 passing yards and had two touchdowns and did not have an interception. Tyreek Hill led Kansas City with 117 receiving yards and he ranks fifth in the league in receiving yards. Kareem Hunt rushed for 77 yards on a 4.4-yar per carry average in the win over the Cardinals.
The Rams have not defended the run well in their last few games and the Chiefs may want to give Hunt the rock often with LA only ranking 24th in the league in run defense.
The Rams were at home in their last game where they had a 36-31 shootout win over division rival Seattle. They had a balanced game on offense, but they did give up 273 rushing yards. Goff was solid passing for 318 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions and the wide receiver duo of Brandin Cooks and Robert Woods combined for 189 receiving yards. Gurley showed why he is a legit MVP candidate with 120 rushing yards and 40 receiving yards on three catches.
While KC has played better defense in the last few games they still only rank 23rd in the league in run defense and 28th in pass defense.

Both of these teams are 9-1 and it could be argued that this will be the game of the season to date. The Rams do shown some signs of weakness, going 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games and having a 2-6 against the spread record in their last eight Monday Night games.
This game will be a barnburner and will be close. We’re backing the Chiefs to get the win and cover the spread.
