Matchday 15 of the Serie A season is here with 10 matches of top-quality Italian soccer on the slate. Here are BettingPlanet.com’s free Serie A picks for the weekend ahead.
Friday, December 8 – 8:45 CET – Allianz Stadium
Kicking off Matchday 15 is a clash between traditional heavyweights Juventus and Napoli. Defending the title, Napoli have been disappointing at times this season, including losses in two of their last three matches. Juventus, meanwhile, have returned to the top end of the table and face a three-way title race with Inter Milan. With form and the home advantage, Juventus should be too strong.
Saturday, December 9 – 3pm CET – Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi
Sitting in 18th place on the Serie A table, Hellas Verona need rapid improvement to steer clear of the relegation zone. This week they welcome an in-form Lazio side that has won its last three matches in all competitions. As Verona have not kept a clean sheet in their past eight matches, the Lazio forwards should have plenty of opportunities in front of goal.
Saturday, December 9 – 6pm CET – Gewiss Stadium
Without a win in their last four Serie A matches, it doesn’t get any easier for Atalanta this weekend as they welcome third-placed AC Milan — a side they have not beaten since early 2021. Atalanta need a win to stay in touch with the top six, while Milan also need to keep winning to keep their faint title hopes alive. Expect this to be a close one, but the Rossoneri should prevail.
Saturday, December 9 – 8:45pm CET – Stadio Giuseppe Meazza
Sitting two points clear at the top of the table, Inter Milan welcome the 16th-placed Udinese on Saturday night. Despite a disappointing season in terms of points, Udinese have drawn a whopping nine matches this season, taking points off many of the top sides in the process. However, Inter should prove too strong at home, and Argentine forward Lautaro Martinez will have plenty of chances to score.
Sunday, December 10 – 12:30pm CET – Stadio Benito Stirpe
After an impressive win over Atalanta last weekend, Torino will be looking to continue their good form as they travel to Frosinone. A newly promoted side, Frosinone have impressed so far this season, especially with their potent forward line. Despite this, Torino should have too much quality on this occasion.
Sunday, December 10 – 3pm CET – U-Power Stadium
This match provides the opportunity for critical points in the fight for mid-table positions. Monza have not been able to keep a clean sheet in their last six matches, but Genoa have not won an away match in their last seven outings. Therefore, expect a close contest between two sides that haven’t won in three weeks.
Sunday, December 10 – 6pm CET – Stadio Arechi
Sitting bottom of the table, Salernitana face another tough matchup as they welcome the seventh-placed Bologna. Putting together an impressive season, Bologna sit just two points out of the top four and will view this match as a great opportunity to gain some valuable points and possibly some goal difference.
Sunday, December 10 – 8:45pm CET – Stadio Olimpico
After their comeback win over Sassuolo last weekend, Roma will be full of confidence having jumped into the top four for the first time this season. This weekend they welcome fellow top-four contenders Fiorentina, who sit in sixth place just a point behind. The home side has won six of the last seven matches between these two, so look for Roma to get on top here.
Monday, December 11 – 6:30pm CET – Stadio Carlo Castellani
Following their third successive draw last weekend, Lecce have now stretched their streak to 10 matches without a win. With seven draws this season, they will be keen to gain some much-needed points against Empoli who sit 17th with the worst attack in Serie A. Expect a close low scoring affair in this one.
Monday, December 11 – 8:45pm CET – Unipol Domus
Wrapping up Matchday 15 is another game between relegation battlers as the 19th-placed Cagliari host the 15th-placed Sassuolo. Two sides with very leaky defences, look for this match to have plenty of scoring. Sassuolo will be without veteran goalscorer Domenico Berardi due to suspension, leaving questions as to who will score their goals.
