These are two of the biggest clubs in Europe and this is set up to be a great matchup. Inter will play host in this fixture between two teams that have one win and one loss through their first two Champions League games. Inter have a talented team but they’ve struggled in their league games, losing four of their eight Serie A matches. Simply put, that form is not good enough heading into a clash with a red-hot Barcelona side.
Barca have been playing phenomenally well. They have only conceded once through their first seven league games and sit atop the La Liga table. If their defense can hold up, Barcelona will be borderline unstoppable in this game. Their attack is not in question, as guys like Robert Lewandowski and Ansu Fati are some of the best forwards in Europe. The Barcelona defense should be able to lock up the Inter attack as the Catalan giants secure their second win of the Champions League campaign.
Club Brugge have won their first two games of this Champions League season and have looked good doing so. However, the Belgian team likely won’t be able to keep this up, while Atletico Madrid are a different class of opponent to the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and Porto. Besides the obvious disparity in the two teams’ budgets and stature, Atleti also know how to win in hostile environments.
Diego Simeone is one of the best coaches in the world, and he will have his Atletico Madrid team ready for this matchup. Atleti have been a strong team in Champions Leagues of years past and should once again be set up for a deep run in this year’s tournament. They have talented players like Joao Felix and Marcos Llorente who should be able to dictate the tempo of this game. Brugge are a solid team, but they are not on the same level as Madrid. We are siding with the away team to win, and the +105 at Bovada is great value.
This is a very interesting game. Eintracht Frankfurt are the reigning Europa League champions, and while they aren’t as talented as Tottenham, they are a pretty strong team. However, Frankfurt have struggled defensively in their Bundesliga matches this season, and that could prove the difference when they face a talented Tottenham attack.
Harry Kane and Son Heung-min are nearly impossible to stop on their best days. We expect them to be motivated in this contest and make it really hard on the Frankfurt defense. Tottenham are coming off a crushing Premier League loss in the North London Derby to Arsenal, so they will be looking to let off some steam. We expect Frankfurt to get the brunt of that anger and for Spurs to control this game. Although they are away, Tottenham’s attack is too good for a team of Frankfurt’s level to handle.
