Baltimore Ravens vs Tennessee Titans Betting Preview

Last season in the NFL, the Baltimore Ravens surged into the postseason with a 12-0 straight up and 9-2-1 against the spread record before being upset by the Tennessee Titans in a stunning 28-12 loss in their first playoff game. The Ravens have a shot at revenge this Sunday afternoon when they face the Titans in Tennessee.

Lamar Jackson’s statistics dipped from last year’s MVP run, but by the end of the regular season the Ravens’ franchise quarterback still wound up with 2,757 passing yards, 26 passing touchdowns, 1,005 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns. Baltimore’s playoff hopes appeared to be in jeopardy when the team 1-4 SU and 2-3 ATS during a midseason slump, but the team secured its playoff spot with a 5-0 SU and ATS run down the stretch that left the Ravens with an 11-5 SU and 10-5-1 ATS record overall.

Tennessee has the worst defense out of any of the 14 teams to advance to the postseason ranking 28th in the NFL in total yards allowed per game (398.3) and 24th in points per game allowed (27.4). But the Titans still wound up winning the AFC South with an 11-5 SU and 7-9 ATS record thanks to a dominant offense led by running back Derrick Henry and quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Henry carried the ball a staggering 378 times for 2,027 yards and 17 rushing touchdowns this year.

Baltimore had the No. 1 rushing attack in the NFL this season averaging 191.9 rushing yards per game while Tennessee finished No. 2 in rushing with 168.1 rushing yards per game. Both of these teams will run the ball down each other’s throats early and often, but it’s the Ravens’ defense that has actually shown the ability to make some stops and is why the betting sites have put them on top for this clash..

This year’s Ravens squad isn’t as good as last year’s was, but neither is this year’s Tennessee squad. Without the hard-nosed defense that led them to an upset last year, look for the Titans to fall short in what should be an entertaining first-round matchup with plenty of offense.
