BetVictor is the latest sportsbook looking to take a piece of the online betting market in Ontario. The institution responsible for regulating the market in Canada’s most populous province, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, issued the licence to BV Gaming on June 3.
BV Gaming – BetVictor’s parent company – is now permitted to operate in Ontario for the next year. The licence allows the company to offer sports and casino betting to residents in the province.
Since the April 4 launch of the Ontario gambling market, a total of 14 sportsbooks have been granted operating license. Many, including FanDuel, Bet365, and Unibet, were privileged to have secured their licenses before that date. DraftKings entered the market shortly after.
BetVictor holds a number of licences from notable jurisdictions across the world, including the Gambling Commission of Great Britain as well as the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority.
