HAVING begrudgingly conceded the loss of the Premier League title for the umpteenth season, Arsene Wenger’s chase to secure a top four finish will reach fever pitch at Swansea on Tuesday afternoon.
The Gunners travel to the Liberty Stadium to face bottom-placed Swansea City with the hope of securing all three points, seeing as other top four challengers are poised to drop points in the mid-week round of Premier League matches.
Manchester United may have hogged all the headlines last week having secured the services of Alexis Sanchez, but it was a classic case of ‘in for a penny in for a pound’ for Wenger who signed Henrikh Mkhitaryan as part of the swap.
It was a shrewd piece of business between the two clubs, as both sides landed a prolific signing without necessarily picking a dickens with one another.
Mkhitaryan was forced to watch from the stands as Arsenal galloped past Chelsea to book a place in the Carabao Cup Final with Manchester City, having already been cup-tied in the competition with his former employers. The Armenia however looks set to make his debut against the Swans.
Arsenal will be boosted further by the return of Olivier Giroud, but will be without Danny Welbeck and long-term absentee Santi Carzola.
The hosts on the other hand have everything going for them with Federico Fernandez returning; their only blight being the enforced absence of Renato Sanches, who picked a hamstring injury against Notts County in the fourth round of the FA Cup over the weekend.

Alexandre Lacazette may not have lived up to his star billing, having found the back of the net just nine times so far into the season, but the France international looks scripted to put the pedal to the metal against Swansea.
With Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan there to deliver the final ball, Lacazette will unequivocally get in among the goal scoring act.
