Boston is the biggest favorite of the day playing in Montreal, where the Canadiens are just 9-18-3 this season. Boston enters the game having won four of five, the latest coming in Winnipeg. While the Bruins will be without Patrice Bergeron, David Savard will be out for Montreal as well.
The Canadiens simply allow too many goals to hang with Boston. They allow more than a goal more per game (3.77) than Boston does (2.66). Boston scores three times per game on average and has the advantage on the power play and penalty kill, which should result in points. Montreal has served 634 penalty minutes this season.
Take the Bruins on the moneyline and consider betting on them to win by two or more goals at +105 with Bovada. Both teams have been averaging more than 3.5 goals per game in their last 10, so also consider betting that more than six total goals are scored at -115. More importantly, parlay Boston on the moneyline with…
The Avs have struggled scoring without leading scorer Gabriel Landeskog in the lineup (3.1 goals per game in their last 10), but they’re still on a three-game winning streak. Edmonton, however, has won five consecutive games and is the healthier of the two teams. But the Oilers won’t have the advantage in goal, regardless of whom they choose to start with another game the following day.
Darcy Kuemper has been fantastic for Colorado this season, and at home he’s 16-2-1 with a .924 save percentage, allowing just 2.37 goals per game. Connor McDavid and his 90 points this season will certainly be a tough test for the Colorado goaltender, but bet on the home team to get what it needs from the netminder.
Parlaying Colorado and Boston on the moneyline pays +113, and consider betting on the Avalanche to win by two or more at +120.
Vegas needs to win every game to maintain its playoff standing. The Golden Knights hold just a three-point advantage over Dallas for the last wild card spot in the Western Conference. Expect that advantage to shrink further after a visit to Minnesota, where the Wild are 19-7-1 and have won two of their last three. Minnesota has had the better offense this season (3.67 goals scored per game) and the better power play, but the Wild do take a lot of penalties (635 penalty minutes).
Vegas goaltender Robin Lehner is coming back from injury and hasn’t played since March 8. Expect Robin to be rusty in his return, especially against Kirill “The Thrill” Kaprizov. Vegas does play again Tuesday, so if the Golden Knights decide to go with Laurent Brossoit and save Lehner for the Jets, the Wild will have an even bigger advantage.
Take Minnesota on the moneyline and consider parlaying them with Colorado and Boston for +251 odds. Minnesota to win by two at +145 is also a great value.
Nashville plays at Los Angeles on Tuesday, so expect the Predators to save goaltender Juuse Saros for that game and start David Rittich in this one. Anaheim hasn’t won in six games, but at least the Ducks are the healthier of the two teams. Nashville will be without Thomas Novak and has two other players listed as day-to-day.
The Ducks have struggled with scoring in their last 10 games (2.2 goals per game), so seeing a backup goalie in net might be exactly what they need to get an upset win in this one. Take the underdog Ducks to end their losing streak at home, where they’re 16-12-4.
