Super Saturday football for round six of the 2024 NRL Premiership kicks off in Auckland with the New Zealand Warriors hosting the Manly Sea Eagles at Go Media Stadium.
The Warriors brought up their third win of the season when they belted the Rabbitohs by 30 points in Sydney last weekend. On the same day, the Sea Eagles stunned the league by beating the Panthers at 4 Pines Park to secure their third win as well.
Sea Eagles coach Anthony Seibold has been forced to make one change after Reuben Garrick was ruled out with concussion following their match against Penrith. As a result, Ben Trbojevic shifts to centre and Corey Waddell starts in the second row.
Warriors coach Andrew Webster welcomes back Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and Kurt Capewell to the starting side, with Adam Pompey dropping back to the reserves. Mitchell Barnett returns to the starting front-row position, with Bunty Afoa (hamstring) missing from the interchange.
The Warriors have been heavily supported in betting markets, shortening from as much as --100 into -200 favouritism. NZ have won eight of their last nine home matches, including their last against the Sea Eagles in 2023. Expect that winning form to continue as the Warriors covering the 6.5-point line at $1.90 with online bookmakers.
Rocco Berry will line up against Sea Eagles centre Ben Trbojevic, who has spent much of the season playing in the second row and regularly failing to put in 80-minute performances. Berry has had a strong start to the 2024 NRL season compared to 2023, scoring a try from a line break and racking up six tackle breaks. Berry will likely be one of the main targets for the Warriors attack, so he is a great value bet to score a try at +250 with Bovada.
Fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad had a strong start to his 2024 NRL season against the Rabbitohs, recording two try assists to go with a line break and five tackle breaks in 263 run metres. With Te Maire Martin at five-eighth, Nicoll-Klokstad will become the focal point of the Warriors’ backline plays. If presented half an opportunity, expect him to score a try at +210 with NRL betting sites.
