This week’s Monday Night Football game promises to be a fun one between the 3-1 Kansas City Chiefs and the 1-3 Las Vegas Raiders. Despite the Raiders’ record, they appear to be a good team, and the over/under of 51.5 suggests this game could be filled with points. It should be good viewing and we have some NFL betting picks to make it that much better.
Simply put, Patrick Mahomes owns the Raiders. He is 7-1 against them in his career and in those games, he has thrown 22 touchdowns and only three interceptions. This matchup should be no different. The Chiefs have looked every bit the contender they were promised to be, and aside from one slip up against the Colts, they have looked like the best team in the NFL. Their defense is around the league average this year and that’s a vast improvement on recent seasons. That defense and their elite offense should prove too much for the Raiders to handle in this contest.
The Raiders are a good team but the Chiefs have their number. Las Vegas have had an unlucky start to their season where they are only 1-3 but they are likely better than that. Unfortunately for them, they won’t show it in this game. The Chiefs offense should prove too much for the bad Raiders defense, and while Vegas should be able to score, they won’t keep up with Mahomes. This should be a fun one, but don’t overthink it; take the best QB in the world.
Josh Jacobs would have hit the over on this number in all but one game. He is truly playing excellent football. That being said, the Chiefs should be in control for all of this game and that will mean the Raiders need to play catch up. When that happens, they will pass the ball at a higher rate than normal and avoid their run game. While Jacobs is a capable talent, this game script should work against him and keep his opportunities limited. As of right now, the value is on the under.
Because we think the Raiders will be passing a lot in this game, the over on Davante Adams’ receiving yards makes sense. He is one of the best receivers in the NFL and he already has two 100-yard games this season. He is capable of shredding any defense and the Chiefs do not have anyone who will be able to contain him. Adams is set up to have a big game and the Raiders will need him to if they want to keep up this Chiefs offense. His total of 81.5 is high, but Adams has proven that he is an elite playmaker whenever he is on the field.
