Things are delicately poised heading into the third match of the 2019-20 South Africa vs England Test series.
After losing the opener at Centurion, the tourists squared the ledger in Cape Town to ensure there would be no dead rubbers in the last two fixtures. That result has swung the series betting towards England at +150 with Bovada, leaving South Africa and the draw at +188 apiece.

The visitors may have to make do without several of their top talents at Port Elizabeth. James Anderson and Rory Burns are out injured, while Jofra Archer is still nursing a sore elbow.
Yet another English star succumbed to illness when Joe Root missed Sunday’s training session, but the skipper is expected to recover in time for Thursday’s start. Mark Wood was another doubt, but the fast bowler is now tipped to play after some strong performances in the nets.
The Proteas have made no changes to the squad that featured in the first two Tests, with Dane Paterson the man on standby.
Dean Elgar – +350 at Bovada
South Africa’s veteran opener found some much-needed touch with a first-innings 88 in the defeat at Newlands. In a series where quality batting has been scarce, Elgar is one who can take his game to another level.
Dominic Sibley – +450 at Bovada
Sibley showed great poise and patience in the second dig at Cape Town while notching the first (and thus far only) hundred of the series for either side. England will need a steady hand at the top with Burns out and Root on the mend.
Kagiso Rabada – +300 at Bovada
He is expensive at times, but Rabada is as consistent a wicket-taker as any bowler in Test cricket. The 24-year-old paceman leads all comers with 12 wickets for the series and will add a few more to that tally in the first innings at Port Elizabeth.
Stuart Broad – +333 at Bovada
With Anderson absent, Broad will spearhead the England attack at St George’s Park. The veteran seamer relished the extra responsibility during last year’s Ashes series, where he finished as the team’s top wicket-taker with 23 scalps at a strike rate of 45.6.
South Africa to win – +188 at Bovada
A lot of people, bookies included, put too much emphasis on momentum over the course of a Test series. While the Proteas were well beaten in Cape Town, they bowled England out for two scores under 270 in the series opener. Both sides are struggling with the bat, but South Africa’s bowling lineup is more dangerous, more often.
